RUTH GRIECO - POETIZING JEWELRY
Didier Brodbeck
The brilliant career of jewelry designer Ruth Grieco is honored in a book written in Europe by Parisian journalist Didier Brodbeck, an author of dozens of books about watches, pearls, and diamonds, and editor of 'Dreams', the first French magazine dedicated to jewelry.
With an English and Portuguese edition, the book includes a brief account of the history of Brazilian jewelry since 1700, highlighting the creole jewels shown in pictures from the time of Debret.
Ruth's art collection, home, and lifestyle appear as a source of inspiration for her collections. The book 'Ruth Grieco - Romancing the Stones' is lavishly illustrated with photos, drawings, and awards received inside Brazil and out, along with short chronicles that recount moments of creation, always extolling Brazilian gemstones, for which Ruth nurtures great passion.
The book was launched in Paris on March 6 at the HIP Gallerie D'Art and another autograph session took place on March 10 for the international press in Switzerland during the largest jewelry fair in the world, the Baselworld. The settings in Brazil for the book launch were in the state of Santa Catarina in May at the History Museum of Santa Catarina (Cruz e Souza Palace) and on June 26 in São Paulo at the Brazilian House Museum with the presence of the author from Paris.
